Charles G. Dawes was a banker and politician who served as the 30th Vice President of the United States (1925-29) in the Republican administration of President Calvin Coolidge. Dawes was a cowinner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1925 for his work on the Dawes Plan for World War I reparations, an interim plan that proved unworkable.
